

Throughout those years, Oretha was at her husband's side, traveling with him whenever possible and helping him in the ministry. The Hagins' second child, their daughter, Pat, followed soon afterward in March 1941.įrom 1941 to 1949, Kenneth Hagin continued to pastor several churches and travel in field ministry. Soon afterward, Kenneth and Oretha moved to Farmersville, Texas where their first child, Kenneth W., was born in September 1939. Hagin, who had come to the nearby community of Tom Bean to pastor a small Assemblies of God Church. On November 25, 1938, Oretha married a young preacher named Kenneth E. She grew up on the family farm and was well-loved by her doting father.

When he saw one of his grandkids or great-grandchildren, his belly laugh filled the room.Oretha Hagin was born on Novemin rural Collin County, Texas, the daughter of Elbert Harvey Rooker and Savannah Elizabeth McCormick Rooker. He was present at every milestone, ready to speak, respond, and pray. He will be remembered not just as a wonderful clergyman, but also as a tremendous family man – his heart was in his family. Reverend Kenneth Hagin was a charismatic preacher, teacher, and prophet who was known as the “founder of the contemporary faith movement.” His books and sermons are loaded with dramatic anecdotes about God’s power and truth at work in his life and the lives of others.

Reverend Hagin traveled and taught God’s word across the United States and into Canada until he died, leading All Faiths’ Crusades and other special assemblies.

The school now has campuses all around the world and is still growing. Hagin established Rhema Bible Training College in 1974. Kenneth and Lynette Hagin Rhema Correspondence Bible School Rhema Alumni Association Rhema Ministerial Association International the Rhema Prayer and Healing Center and the Rhema prison ministry are all part of Kenneth Hagin Ministries.
